The Story of
From the Craft Room
Hi, I'm Angie and welcome to the ‘From the Craft Room’ shop. All the items I make for you, come straight from my little craft room in the lovely county of Dorset, on the south coast of England! I love crafting, making and trying new crafts and combining them to make gifts and decorations. I am married, and a mum to four young adults all doing their own things. I now have more time to enjoy crafting, I am now able to sell through my website, Etsy page and now on Folksy, whilst juggling family life!
I started out very small in 2017 and sold to my family, friends and neighbours and with their encouragement, I then ventured onto tables at craft fairs, where I enjoyed people's comments on the items they bought and through those comments I refined the items, then the pandemic started and I focused on my website and Etsy page. I still love getting reviews and feedback from customers. I enjoy looking at customers' photos of the items they have purchased, how they are using them and displaying them in their homes. Also when customers have bought an item as a gift, hearing that the recipient loved their gift!
I enjoy making Candles especially using Beeswax. It is natural, clean burning and long lasting. I love that we are helping to support the bees by purchasing wax and making candles. I hand pour yellow and white Beeswax into moulds. I use different shaped candle moulds and bring out the characters of the candles by colouring the Beeswax and using candle paint. Also I use natural cotton wicks in different sizes according to the unique and oddly shaped candles. I try to get the best burn rate of each candle with a good flame height and they burn nicely without too much leakage and bits falling off.
As well as Candles I love Crochet, making fun gifts and decorations for your home, I get inspired from Pinterest and love to bring a bit of fun and cuteness to the characters I make I love learning new crafts all the time, with my Cricut cutting machine, sublimation and a new wood laser cutting machine, I'm also starting to dabble in glass fusion! I hope to combine all these different crafts and to make more products for you soon.
